Danba offers a sonic journey through the acoustic characteristics of various percussion instruments. It explores the characteristics of each one, in terms of both timbre and spatial behaviour: pitch-frequency, intensity, harmonic spectrum and timbre, duration, directional characteristics and acoustic environment.

The materials are occasionally presented throughout the piece with their temporal sequence disrupted, seeking to create a heterogeneous narrative. The use of electronics, in turn, allows the sounds to be analysed and processed, recreating them in the process – all as part of a round-trip journey in which the sonic outcome of an instrumental gesture in turn gives rise to a new interpretative treatment.
