Trazo
This work refers to the scores in which the composer’s own notations acquire a special relevance. The pictorial character that the outlines in themselves display at times suggests an authentic musical gesture.
Xuxurla
This composition is a compilation of sound materials that follows a standard dictated by the guitar’s characteristics and taps into strictly electronic elements. Their origin, degree of elaboration, ductility and mixture, etc., are analysed by studying the potential offered by the resources selected.
Wirikuta
According to the world view of the Wixárika o Huichol people, the centre of the universe is located in Wirikuta, a sacred land where the sun was born and the world was created. Their deities and ancestral spirits inhabit it, so every natural element is equally sacred.
Alchimia: (I) Aer
The work is conceived as the first of a cycle of four pieces for different types of solo flute, with the overall title of ALCHIMIA, In this cycle, each of the pieces is based on one of the four elements of the Nature of the Ancient World, from the most subtle (air) to the most dense (earth).
Umbélulas
Together with an essential acoustic study of the multiple tonal possibilities of specific percussion instruments, in parallel, the work conducts a search, by means of electronics, for new expressive resources.
Dardarak
This work is a version of a project entitled Botasoneiro, undertaken in 2005 with saxophonist Iñigo Ibaibarriaga and sound artist Mikel Arce. The original work was based on the combination of baritone saxophone and electronic sounds in constant motion, both virtually and physically, due to the incorporation of rocking speakers.
Un caracol manchado
"One day, the men find an alphabet in the eyes of the chalcedony, the brown velvet of the moth, and then astonished to know each snail was spotted, always, a poem.”
(Alejo Carpentier, “Los pasos perdidos”, ("The Lost Steps")).
Sentidos ocultos
After this break, I am really enjoying playing the piano, listening, writing... but in a different way.
A new different stage, more aware and attend... to senses...
Acuarela
“Acuarela” emerged from the work of flautist Roberto Casado and choreographer and dancer Michelle Man. Both were actively involved in a pre-eminently multidisciplinary project.
Txori erraria
This is a tribute to the work of Mikel Laboa seen from a different perspective – an approach to that wandering feeling, which is difficult to capture in terms of sound and recognisable rhythm, and which is deformed on its return.
Bikoitz
Based on the idea of a double, a duo, as a mirror between the instruments and their reflection in the electronics.
Solo
- Why is everything linked by an invisible thread that wraps us and traps us and prevents us from being free in the full vacuum of light?
- Because I only dream the memory of the time when everything was loneliness.
Nono
Nono
belongs to a group of constructivist style works in which the material used (in this case nine notes for nine instruments) determines the pitches and rhythms and conditions the development and duration of the sections.
Caja de sueños
The piece is structured in such a way as to juxtapose different well-differentiated parts that form the discourse. The treatment of the instruments, the lines in which pitches and intensities are displayed, define very characteristic fragments.
El lamento de las dunas
The title refers to the fascination that in many ways I have always had with the desert. Environments in which the absence of visual and acoustic references, to which we are accustomed, spark our imagination. It is an apparent state of instability that changes our perspective and causes all our senses to be stimulated.
Igarkizuna
Igarkizuna
is a Basque word that best approximates in meaning to ‘enigma’, ‘puzzle’, ‘riddle’, although it is also commonly employed in another sense as ‘prediction’, ‘guess’, ‘premonition’.
Deep Blue
Deep Blue
. This work is intended as a competition between musician and machine, although in reality, the musician is enhanced when merged with technology.
Rosarena
A song may be too short to be able to describe the feelings that you have for a person.
Price: € 10.
Un viento dorado
In a working session in Gênes (Belgium) with the ensemble eWave, we recorded several effects with the flute: whistle-tones, key noises, wind sounds imitating breathing, animal imitations, etc. It was very suggestive timbre material, but it also contained extremely distinct differences.
Meditación azul
It was my interest in the therapeutic power of music and the relationship between high and low frequencies, between colours and sounds, that inspired the title.
Lur
Sound fluid that advances, empowering itselve, getting timbral registers and propousing transformations until it achieves its sound fullness.
Bakarrean II
Bakarrean II is part of the previous work for guitar and live electronics from 1997 Bakarrean, this time the electronic part is fixed on an audio track with the possibility to divide it. The work appears as a new look from a distance, maintaining the original inertia and reconstructing the moment.
Zatiketa
In this work, I set out to fragment the entire maximum scope of piano. An enormous scope is offered by the piano, which I use as a starting point as the entirety of the mosaic that represents its fragmentation.
Urbia
Urbia represents the idealized place, where one feels especially connected to one´s natural environment, without ceasing to be oneself.
Danba II
Danba II offers an auditory path through the acoustic characteristics of various instruments. It sets out a commitment to each instrument, exploring its timbral characteristics and attempting to dispense with traditional hierarchies.
Azul invisible
The work sets up a dialogue between the many sonorities of the cello and of electronics, a fundamental aim being to explore the articulation options of both elements. The work's musical discourse is structured by the varying lengths of a network of heights and intervallic series.
